Tweaknews: Customizing SABnzbd Folder Behavior

Set Folder Locations for Better Workflow

Organizing your SABnzbd folder layout makes processing more efficient. You can assign storage locations for every stage of use.

Standard Folders You’ll Use

  • Complete Folder: Final destination for handled articles.

  • Temporary Folder: Where items are processed.

  • Watched Folder: Monitored for NZB triggers.

To Modify Folder Paths

Go to Config > Folders and insert your preferred full path for each folder.

System-Based Examples

  • Windows: E:\Tweaknews\Complete

  • macOS/Linux: /srv/tweaknews/sabnzbd/complete

Optional Paths to Consider

  • Admin: Stores data on processing activity.

  • Log: Tracks SABnzbd’s behavior for debugging.

Retention and Access Limits

The figure in SABnzbd is for reference. Tweaknews maintains high article retention for deeper access across newsgroups.

Fine-Tune PAR2 Handling

By default, SABnzbd avoids extra data by using QuickCheck. You can force full recovery block use under Settings > Switches > Post Processing.

Processing Presets

  • Blank: No changes made.

  • R: Validate and fix.

  • U: Fix and unpack.

  • D: Fix, unpack, and discard temp files.

Troubleshooting a Repair Problem

If SABnzbd hangs during a repair:

  1. Open your Task Manager or system monitor.

  2. Kill the par2 process. This will fail the task, allowing you to step in manually or restart it later.
