Resolving Tweaknews Newsbin Problems

1. Shift-Start to Bypass Corrupt Layouts

Hold Shift while opening Newsbin to prevent layout issues.

2. Missing Controls or Tabs

Use Options > Reset Display GUI to restore full interface.

3. Rebuilding Missing Server Entries

If servers are missing from Options > Servers:

• Add Tweaknews again via New Server.

4. Cannot Launch or Frequent Crashes

• Exit Newsbin.

• Rename the .nbi configuration file.

• Launch Newsbin and reconfigure.

5. Bad Database Files Causing Errors

• Rename .db3 group/header files.

• Newsbin will rebuild fresh versions.

6. Connectivity Blocked by Security Tools

• Disable firewalls, VPNs, or antivirus briefly to test.

7. Articles Missing from Search or Header Results

• Verify the group falls within Tweaknews’s article retention.

• Adjust Indexer filters to broaden scope.
