Understanding Your Tweaknews Account Usage
Tweaknews tracks account usage based on the volume of articles accessed through your Usenet account. This applies to all Tweaknews plans, whether unlimited or based on a specific usage allotment. You can find your current usage for limited data plans in your Member dashboard.
How Usage Is Tracked
Every time an article is accessed through the Usenet service, it counts toward your usage total. This applies to any method of access, including through a newsreader or Indexer-integrated tool. The counter reflects the combined total transferred, measured in gigabytes (GB).
Reset Schedule
For accounts with a monthly transfer limit, the usage counter resets at the beginning of each new billing period. The new cycle starts on the same calendar day as your original signup date. For example, if the account was activated on the 15th, usage will reset on the 15th of each month.
Unlimited plan users do not have a fixed cap, so they won't have a tracker in their dashboard.
Article Retention and Access Limits
Tweaknews provides access to articles across a long article retention window. However, if an article is no longer available due to age or other factors, it will not count toward your usage. Access attempts to expired or unavailable articles will result in an error from the server.
Managing Usage
To view your current usage, log in to the Tweaknews Member dashboard and check the usage section. Keeping track of your usage can help you stay within your plan's limits and avoid disruptions. If you need additional access, consider switching to a different plan that matches your needs.
