Update Folder Destination in UsenetWire

UsenetWire, the preferred newsreader for Tweaknews, allows you to customize where your Usenet articles are stored on your system. If you want to move these folders to a different location, you can adjust the directory settings directly in the UsenetWire interface.

This guide will walk you through the steps to update the default folder path in UsenetWire.

Steps to Change the Default Folder

  1. Open UsenetWire

    • Launch the UsenetWire newsreader on your device.

  2. Go to Options

    • Click on Options in the top navigation menu.

  3. Open Settings

    • Select Settings from the dropdown list.

  4. Select Connections

    • In the Settings panel, navigate to the Downloads tab.

  5. Choose Folder Locations

    • Inside Downloads , select the Download Folder field on the right-hand side.

  6. Change Folder Paths

    • Either type in the path to your preferred folder or click the three dots button to browse for the folder you want.

    • Navigate to your preferred location and confirm the new path.

  1. Apply the Changes

    • After setting your desired paths, click Apply and then OK to save your settings.

Notes

  • Choose a storage location with sufficient space, especially if you're accessing large volumes of Usenet articles.

  • Restarting UsenetWire after making changes can help apply them correctly.
