Start Using Tweaknews: Account Setup and UsenetWire Guide
Tweaknews makes it easy to begin exploring the world of Usenet. This guide will walk you through setting up your account and using UsenetWire, a newsreader that's already configured for Tweaknews access.
Step 1: Create a Tweaknews Account
If you haven’t already, go to the Tweaknews website and choose a plan that fits your needs. Once your account is created, you will receive a welcome email with your login details.
Step 2: Install UsenetWire
UsenetWire is a user-friendly Usenet client that comes preconfigured for Tweaknews. To begin:

Visit the UsenetWire website and select the appropriate version for your operating system.

Install the software following the on-screen instructions.

Launch UsenetWire. Since it's preconfigured for Tweaknews, your setup process will be minimal. Enter your Tweaknews username and password when prompted.
Step 3: Access Newsgroups and Search
Once logged in, you’ll have access to over 120,000 Usenet groups. UsenetWire features an integrated search function, allowing you to browse available articles directly within the application.

Use the search bar to look up specific topics or article names.

Results will appear in a list. Select items of interest and choose actions from the available menu.
Tweaknews offers extensive article retention, giving you access to a wide history of Usenet articles.
Step 4: Optional: Use a Different Newsreader
Tweaknews works with all standard newsreaders. If you prefer a different client, use the following server settings:

Port (non-SSL): 119

Connections: Up to 60 concurrent
Enter your Tweaknews username and password in your chosen newsreader’s configuration panel.
