NZBGet Setup on Android for Tweaknews
NZBGet is a lightweight and powerful Usenet client that works well on Android devices. With Tweaknews, it can be configured to access Usenet articles securely and efficiently. This guide walks through the steps to set up NZBGet on Android.
Step 1: Install the NZBGet Application and Daemon

Download the NZBGet installer APK from the official NZBGet website.

On your Android device, open the APK file to begin installation.

If prompted, allow installations from unknown sources in your device settings.

Once the installer is installed, launch the NZBGet app.

Tap Install Daemon from the main screen.

Select Latest Stable to proceed with installing the current stable version of NZBGet.

The installer will download and set up the application.

When installation completes, you will see a confirmation message: “NZBGet daemon has been successfully installed.”
Step 2: Start NZBGet and Access the Web Interface

Launch the NZBGet app.

Select Start daemon.

A confirmation message will appear when the daemon has started successfully.

Inside the NZBGet app, select Show web-interface.

Alternatively, open a web browser and navigate to: http://localhost:6789

Close the NZBGet app. The daemon process will continue running in the background.

Step 2: Configure NZBGet with Tweaknews

Open the NZBGet app and access the settings by tapping the menu icon (three dots or lines, depending on the version).

Go to Settings > NEWS-SERVERS.

Host: news.tweaknews.eu

Port: 563

Encryption: Yes (SSL)

Connections: Up to 60 (you can start with 10 and adjust based on performance)

Username: Your Tweaknews username

Step 3: Fine-Tune Settings (Optional)

Download Directory: Customize where NZBGet stores completed articles under Paths.
